see when Joshua writes, you have to think hard to get what is and what is not being said, but basically the man sees straight into the story and sees that the deal is, family and community have a power here that transcends any suffering the nation/people go through. The struggle then, is something like the evolution of an individual APART from but still WITHIN this power structure: An individual capable of saying, "wait wait this is some silly ish we are up to," but without killing the messenger i.e. the community up to the silly ish. feel me?

I'd like to say that anyone who lives in China would find this article leaning towards the truth, but in actuality, it speaks from a finely tuned eye in a land that tunes with eyes just as fine.

Like seeding the clouds, China has no fear in tampering with its space to achieve certain results. It lacks in the self-concerned identity crisis that is beginning to plague the west regarding mental diseases and medications should be taken to be "normal" again. China wants sunny days, better crops, a dry spring festival, a glorious digital fireworks display, and lets no obstacle get in the way. Its advantage, though based in the family network, decides that the family is the basis of one's individual governance. There is no being fooled that the individual should strive to succeed, but it allows the machine of the family and its guanxi to achieve what can't be established by any one person alone. Brothers drinking is more than a party celebrating BMWs and short skirts at the other table. It is an induction into a circle of loyalty that comes with cold consequences if not met with well; it is a bond that bends in every direction, legal or not, to achieve.
Sascha is introducing a box that might seem new to some eyes, but a box that is riddled with complexity and a well tuned machine that actually functions more profoundly than the rhetoric surrounding it. Hence American family values losing grip by being on the stage more than being in the fox hole.

Wish I could pronounce all that we discussed today... in time.

The length of a revolution decides the perpetual growth of its aftermath, and China's movement still slowly lurks like a python gazing for weeks on end through the thicket of a muddy pond, watching carefully the oxen above gaining confidence in the security of their drinking hole.

well done.
