American Chamber of Commerce looking for part-time native English speaker

Company description: The American Chamber of Commerce in Southwest China serves as the official voice of U.S. business in Southwest China. We support over 300 member companies’ business in the region through networking events, advertising platforms, visa support, and other services.

Job description: AmCham Southwest is looking for an energetic and friendly native English speaker to serve as our Manager of Communications. The person holding this part-time position will be responsible for all English-language communication at the Chamber. This includes composing and editing magazine articles, web pages, and event materials, and providing English commentary at events. You will also compile, draft, and edit the Chengdu and Chongqing chapters of AmCham’s annual report. Finally, you will assist with event planning, member services, and other projects as necessary.

Hours: 1:30-4:30 PM, Monday-Friday, as well as 1-3 evenings and/or weekends per month as needed for events.

Duration: June 2016 through at least February 2017

Salary: 3,500 RMB/month

Requirements:

• Native English speaker

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Demonstrated experience with writing and editing

• Must have or be currently pursuing a BA

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Able to bring your own laptop computer to work

• Some oral and written Chinese
