    Hello all,

Im looking at getting into “dj’ing” (but as a way to play my own music not like a club dj or whatever)

I have very little idea of how to begin, ive read a bit about the equipment needed, and various recommendation’s etc but i have no idea about how to actually get started

Isit just a matter of buying the digital mixer and then practicing?

is anyone a dj and could show me the ropes, or let me watch you whilst you dj?

Just download a bootleg copy of Traktor and look up a few tutorials on Google.  A conservative estimate of Chengdu’s expat population puts the percentage of active DJs at about 87% so the likelihood of finding someone who’s interested in showing you the ropes are quite high.

I tinkered with it for a bit but ended up just getting two songs deeply stuck in my head so I stepped back and decided to keep my life simple.  I only allow myself to tastefully curate iTunes mixes anymore.

As I quoted on my wechat

    2010.  5 Starbucks in Chengdu

    2014.  62 Starbucks in Chengdu

    Just exchange Starbucks for DJ’s
