Gibbon Experience – Northern Laos

Hey Folks,

I’m thinking about traveling down to Laos for the Gibbon Experience? Has anyone here done it before? The reviews are pretty great. I’m also interested in how you got there, i.e. the quickest way from Chengdu…. Any help from the forum is greatly appreciated!

Never done this but I’ve met travelers in Laos who have and they loved it.

Traveling within Laos takes a long time, I think the easiest way might be to fly to Bangkok and get a train to the Laos border (not Nong Khai but another one further north). I’ve traveled overland to Laos from Yunnan province before but it takes a long time.
