We’re looking for an experienced native speaker to teach adults and teenagers. We want someone with a genuine interest in education who will work together with students to achieve their personal and professional goals. Our teachers should take their work seriously, but approach it with fun and excitement. We like out-of-the box thinkers who are willing to experiment with new ideas, new approaches, new methods, and who are also focused on results.
Currently there are 5 classes a week with 6.5 total teaching hours. Two classes are in students homes and the other classes are in our school next. Home classes are paid at a higher rate.
We are located in the west of Chengdu near the Southwest Jiaotong University subway station on line 7. Classes are on weekends and late evenings (after 7:30 start time during the week). Classes are currently rather spread out, but can probably be consolidated into 2 or 3 days.
Start time: May 2nd
Salary: 250rmb/hr in-campus teaching, 350/hr for home classes
Hours per week: 5-10
Paid on the last day of the month (or sooner if it’s a holiday or weekend)
Requirements:
– Native speaker (preferably from the US or Australia)
– At least 3 years teaching experience in China (5 years preferred)
– Available evenings and weekends
– Able to continue the position for at least 6 months
– Reliable, punctual, and organized
