Rather than say it’s a bad idea to buy a house outside of 3rd ring due to commute, it’d be better to say it’s important to consider what area you’re more likely to work when buying a house…..which is a pretty common sense concept 😀 I’d wager that most foreigners working in a professional capacity /or/ with other means to buy an apartment in Chengdu don’t work downtown.
