For anyone interested in knowing more about Bitcoins in Chengdu, join us this Saturday (April 13th) at the Bookworm at 17:00.
If you want to know how Bitcoins work, where to buy / sell them, or mine them, meet with an IT expert and other local Bitcoins enthusiasts.
Please register your interest on this thread.
April 8, 2013 at 9:00 am #29687CharlieKeymasterI’m there!
April 8, 2013 at 9:13 am #29689BenModeratorAssuming nothing else crops up, I’ll attend.
What qualifies someone as an IT expert?
April 8, 2013 at 9:50 am #29690BabyblueParticipantAn IT expert is someone who has spent their life working in IT. Building banking systems for the central banks of Europe etc. With over twenty years of experience. I hope that is good enough for you sir! ;-P

April 9, 2013 at 12:05 am #297157ParticipantI am interested, but I have a friend coming to town this weekend and was thinking of taking them to Leshan on Saturday. So, I may not make it.
April 9, 2013 at 12:19 am #29716TyParticipantCan they help me with not gambling all of my bitcoins away?
April 9, 2013 at 1:38 am #29717April 9, 2013 at 2:51 am #29719Tracy LeeParticipantMaybe I’ll come with a friend.:)

April 10, 2013 at 8:46 am #29781Andrew BrowneParticipantI’ll be there.
April 13, 2013 at 9:39 am #29928CharlieKeymasterWe are all seated outside at a picnic table under an umbrella.
April 14, 2013 at 1:56 am #300297ParticipantI was watching my daughter and didn’t get a chance to make it. Did anything interesting come out of it?

April 15, 2013 at 5:58 am #30001CharlieKeymasterQuote:I was watching my daughter and didn’t get a chance to make it. Did anything interesting come out of it?Yeah, this went really well. About 10 people showed up and we sat outside at a picnic table under the fading sun around dusk. I learned a lot, as Hakim (who is very knowledgeable on Bitcoins) talked about block chains, wallets, buying BTC in China, and more. Overall it was a very good conversation and all perspectives were represented. It definitely was not just a group of people fawning over Bitcoin, which was good.
Edit: I got one photo
