Hey all, I’m trying to find out how much a taxi would cost to go between the airport and the Holiday Inn on Century City Road (the one in the south of the city).
About 25-40 yuan depending on the time of day, type of taxi etc.
The newer Jetta’s (they’re called something else here?) cost a few yuan more than the older taxis. 10pm-6am is more expensive than daytime fares but taxis (you) don’t have to pay to take the 10 yuan toll to take the airport highway from the airport to the city – only when you’re going to the airport. Shangliu airport to the South of Chengdu is a fast and relatively inexpensive trip, though.
An alternative is the 10 yuan bus which goes up Renmin Nanlu and passes very near the US consulate. Hope this helps-
