What: Climb the F**K out of Longquan Mountain
When: Saturday (Feb 2nd) 9am
Where: The gate of Longquan First Hospital, Longquanyi (龙泉驿第一医院)
Why: Geared bikes suck
brought to you by Natooke成都
January 29, 2013 at 11:35 am #26371LarryParticipantThis is actually a challenge by local roadies due to a slight misquote in an article written about us a couple weeks back. We at Natooke never walk away from an ass whoop’n.
January 29, 2013 at 1:47 pm #26372AdrienParticipantI’m ready with the training today 😉
January 29, 2013 at 2:26 pm #26373BrendanModeratorTempted to take a run at this knowing it will knock the shit out of me.

I cycled up the mountain last week and it’s indeed a good ride.
January 30, 2013 at 6:20 am #26412LarryParticipantFor tomorrow, meet at the shop at 7:45, leave at 8 sharp
January 31, 2013 at 12:09 pm #26491LarryParticipantQuote:Tempted to take a run at this knowing it will knock the shit out of me.Brendan, how tempted are you? We’ll be back before noon.
There are prizes being donated by Natooke成都 and Specialized for first 3 finishers + DFL. Specialized road helmet, water bottles, leg warmers, fender, and some other little stuff.

February 1, 2013 at 2:03 am #26507BrendanModeratorQuote:Brendan, how tempted are you? We’ll be back before noon.Depends if my legs are recovered from last nights workout or not. What’s the total distance of this run, from city to gate, up and back again? Looking at the map hurts.
February 1, 2013 at 3:49 am #26512Vincent NLParticipantFrom Natooke to the top of the hill it’s 36km one way.
We cycled in about an hour and 5 minutes to the bottom of the hill. It took me 35min to get to the top, but Larry did it in about 20 minutes I believe.
February 1, 2013 at 3:50 am #26513AdrienParticipantAnd me 25min 😉
February 1, 2013 at 5:48 am #26524LarryParticipantWe’ll leave from the Natooke成都 @7:00am and ride somewhat leisurely together to Longquan.
If anyone wants to meet us en route, we’ll be heading via Long Xing Da Dao (龙兴大道) –> Jing Ning Lu (静宁路) --> Cheng Long Da Dao (成龙大道) –> then up to Yi Du Zhong Lu (驿都中路) into Longquanyi (龙泉驿).
The hill that will perish is part of the G321, we’ll start the climb at the hospital gate at the bottom.

The hill climb is but a small portion and you’ll find that with fixed there’s no part that really asks too much of you. The downhill is also good practice at maintaining a good cadence!
February 2, 2013 at 2:03 pm #26574kaleParticipantholy shit!! I missed it!
