Electronic music in Chengdu

I visit Chengdu for some days, most days are meanwhile weekend. So nice moment to visit some (dance) clubs. I found on the internet a little bit information. But still I don’t know which club is nice to visit.

What I am looking for? I look for are “real” electronic music. No mainstream dance music like Afrojack, Tiesto, David Guetta or Chinese music. No, want to visit more underground electronic music (techno, electro, acid).

Does somebody have some information? Chengdu is a big city so must have a clubs like in other cities as Beijing and Shanghai.

Hey Jeff,

Electronic music is at a particular weak point in Chengdu right now, there really isn’t much available at the moment. We had a good venue which closed recently (called Xiong Mao where friends and I hosted Disco Death) but now everything is either a one-off or in a small bar.

Lan Town might be worth checking out. They occasionally have decent DJs.

Hemp House will have some techno/bass music after 12 on Saturday. See this thread

By Google Maps I see both locations are not very far from each other.

I’d say the Hemp House but I’m biased as I’ll be DJing there. There are bands on until 12 so you could check out Lan Town first and head over to Hemp House if it isn’t good/busy.

Hemp House, especially if there’s an event going on there. It’s a small venue so it’ll probably be pretty crowded this Saturday.

Seriously though, where can you go to hear any kind of underground electronic music now? Hemp House and Lan Town are the only two venues I can think of. Unless White Rabbit is still open…not heard of anything going on out there for ages.

Till now girlfriend and I have two locations in mind: Hemp Hous and/or Lan Town.

Its fucking miles away. I’m pretty sure its not open now but I don’t know if they still rent the space. I’ll ask someone on Saturday.

Hemp Hous , and Lan Town are still have party. this saturday Chengdumusic made big party in Hemp Hous.
