Where to Get Frozen Berries?

Having read about hepatitis and E. coli outbreaks in Europe I know China is a huge exporter of frozen strawberries, raspberries and blackberries, but I’ve never actually seen them for sale anywhere… (I’ve checked Metro, Auchan and Carrefour.)

Anyone have any ideas where I should look next?

That’s interesting – strawberries are seasonal and commonly available here but blueberries and raspberries that I see are are usually expensive and imported. If there’s a place to get inexpensive frozen berries in Chengdu, that would be a real nice discovery. One place to check would be the Qingshi Qiao market, but I haven’t seen frozen berries there before.

Where in Metro? I’ve never found frozen berries there, just frozen veggies…

Never seen blackberries — seen blueberries and raspberries same as Charlie – expensive/imported, at lots of fruit places/auchan/etc. I’ve done some pretty good scouring at QingShiQiao, haven’t seen anything there. Just searched taobao, looks like there are TONS, maybe it’s very regional:

There’s a myriad of suppliers on Alibaba, but 5 metric tons is a little more than I need… Maybe you need to order them thru one of the restaurant/bar wholesalers?
