Travel Insurance in Chengdu

I will arrive to Chengdu next week. I am checking the best option for a travel insurance. Some of you already commented on the forum that the medical assistance in China is extremely cheap, but do you have an insurance that covers the expenses of repatriation, death…?

Have any of you paid an expensive hospital bill?

Travel insurance through a provider in your home country might be worth it for you depending on how long you’ll be traveling for. But otherwise, I’d say that most foreigners in China do not have that type of insurance unless it’s through their employer, which in most cases will be either multi-national companies or very large Chinese companies.
