    Hello,

I just moved to Chengdu from New York this week. Can any recommend where to learn Chinese? I’m thinking between Chinese Corner and Mandarin Club.

Also, looking to meet new people! If anyone is free on weekdays/weekends let me know 🙂

You should look for the couch surfing or toastmasters clubs here.

    Hey Federico,

Nice to meet you! Thanks for your reply. Cool, I’ll check out Mandarin Club. Are you studying for your HSK exam by any chance?

Welcome to Chengdu Nicole. Where in NY are you from? I spent a week in Sunnyside Queens this summer and had a great time.

It’s not that bad compared to something like Portugese or Cantonese which have far fewer learning options available. There’s a mountain of resources available for learning Mandarin. These might help:

    A+

Mandarin Club is definitely a good place to start for learning Chinese. I’m friends with the owner, Su, who is possibly the most bubbly and friendly Chinese girl I’ve met here.

Good to know that I’m not the only beginner! Yes, very difficult. As I am learning, my brain keeps interjecting Spanish words as well! Haha, I said ” Yo de ming ze llamo Valeria” the other day, it was awful, but my friends died laughing. Look forward to seeing ya’ll there!
