Ok so I’m just going to keep this one thread and put all of our comedy shows in here instead of making a new thread each time.
We have a very exciting season ahead of us, with the next five acts already booked to stop here on their Asia tours.
The season starts with this one, this coming Tuesday February 23rd….
Also don’t forget we have stand up open mic on the second Thursday of every month, free entry and anyone is welcome to get up and give it a go.
Stand up Comedy open mic is back at The Bookworm Chengdu this Thursday (March 10th), first timers encouraged. Free entry. Starts at 8:30. You can leave a message here, contact the Bookworm or just turn up on the night to book a 5 minute spot. Hope to see you out, it’s a lot of fun.

The Bookworm’s regular comedy night, brought to you by Kungfu Komedy, presents Steve Simeone, whose high-energy, positive, family-friendly approach has delighted audiences around the world and made him a regular at Hollywood’s most prestigious comedy clubs. In 2014 he made his Comedy Central debut on Gabriel Iglesias’ Stand Up Revolution, was chosen by Honda to represent their Summer “Cheerance” Campaign, and saw his first album, Remember This, hit the top of the Billboard and iTunes charts
This is the first time we have had a full comedy night as part of the literary festival.

Next Tuesday (12th) Live stand up comedy is back at the Bookworm Chengdu. A change in lineup from previously advertised but it’s going to be awesome as we welcome our first female international headliner. 80 RMB pre-sale. 100 on the door.

Brad Williams has become on of the funniest, most in demand comedians working today. A California native, Brad started doing stand-up at age 19 and has been touring ever since. He has appeared on numerous TV shows including Legit, Dave Attell’s Comedy Underground, Sam and Cat, Live at Gotham, the Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Mind Of Mencia, and Pitboss. In addition to stand-up, Brad has become a dynamic on-air personality as well. His podcast “About Last Night” is a mainstay on the iTunes Charts. He is a regular on KROQ’s Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles as well as the Adam Carolla podcast. Brad’s show is high energy. Robin Williams called him “Prozac with a head.” Brad’s ability to make humorous observations on disability, relationships, sex, and race are winning over audiences and proving anyone can overcome their shortcomings.

This Tuesday (Nov 15th) comedy comes to the Chengdu Bookworm once again, with international headliner Vlad Caamano kicking off his China tour in Chengdu. this should be a good one…….
With the name “Vladimir,” few people expect a Dominican from The Bronx to take the stage. His comedic style is the fruit of an immigrant Dominican family living in the cultural mecca that is New York City and is described as an elegant combination of urban grit and intellect. He began polishing his wit in the concrete jungles of The Bronx and Washington Heights and after graduating from Wesleyan University launched into Standup Comedy.
Vlad has quickly become a staple of the New York Comedy scene performing at The Stand, Gotham Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, Dangerfield’s and the Comic Strip Live. He has been featured on Gotham Comedy Live on AXS.TV and Adam Devine’s House Party for Comedy Central.It’s not only our favourite time of the month but also one of favourite times of the year, It’s Christmas! That means it’s time for our 3rd annual Stand Up Comedy Open Mic Christmas special. Friday December 9th, 8:30PM free entry @ Bookworm Chengdu.
