Chengdu often feels like a Catch 22…

I love it for it’s relaxed pace and friendly vibe, but sometimes it’s almost too quiet for me to be interested.

Food, people, and pace of life are the big pluses, just as they can be the frustration. Food and environment are the big concerns for me too, I’ve heard enough horror stories related to nutrition to last a lifetime. By the same token, I’ve long since taken to preparing most of my food myself, a luxury easily afforded in Chengdu.

Gardens, tea houses, walkways lined by flowers, etc. Read this: Spend an Afternoon in Chengdu’s Flower Town

Totally peaceful, beautiful place with tons of awesome non-traditional style teahouses surrounded by trees, flowers… good homestyle food… lots of places to walk and chill out… new Macchu Picchu with really good 5 rmb coffee, free use of bbq and kitchen facilities and stuff for badminton/volleyball… (totally selling the new MP but would love to book it out for a day with a group)
