    Seems a local (meishan) factroy of a popular brand of milk has some contaminant problem.

    The brand is mengniu 蒙牛.

    Seems the contaminant is Aflatoxin

    Food safety: absolutely the biggest concern living here. I got some mengniu in the fridge right now. Thanks for the warning!

    Thanks for the heads up, this will probably further reduce my milk consumption. I will miss you, breakfast cereal.

    In my neighborhood supermarkets Mengniu brand milk is absolutely gone from the shelves. Except for my shelves that is, where this sucker has 8 (!) cartons gathering dust..

    Yeah, contamination of the food and environment is a legitimate concern. In terms of pollution it can get much, much worse than Chengdu in China though – Lanzhou, Beijing, Xian, etc.
