We are a few educators and friends who kept talking about how awesome it would be to have a second hand shop in our city. After awhile we realized the best solution is to just start one!

What kind of products do you accept and/or sell?
From what I’ve seen and heard I think the big thing is clothing, but they’ve also expanded into other things like toys, costumes and other odds-and-ends. Definitely worth contacting them or checking this out though!

We accept/re-sell anything that is still in good condition and is usable. Clothes, books, art, accessories, household items, toys, etc,. Except we’ve noticed underwear and socks aren’t too popular so we’ll say NO to those.
Along with your item, we ask each donor consider leaving a story behind about it (hence the second portion of our store’s name). We believe every thing has its unique story and we want to share that with our audience in some form in the near future.
Yes, we are currently brainstorming and doing research to find a fitting way to use our profit for enriching our community here in Chengdu. We are a group of educators who want to use the proceeds from our shop to do good in Chengdu. If you know of orgs or other communities who may be interested in collaborating or connecting with us, PLEASE we’d be delighted! (wechat: ershouergushi email: [email protected])
many of our lady donors have left fun, emotional, and honest stories about their previous relationships tied to their clothes. these stories reveal a lot about self/body image issues/breakthroughs, gender dynamic in a relationship, to nostalgic memories their clothes bring back.
then we’ve got quirky stories which are all tied to human connections through items such as a stuff toy giraffe from an awesome tour guide or a free tea-set from a hair salon the donor never used.
we’re working on putting together a blog to share these items with their stories so stay tuned and if you know of others who may find this project to be up their alley, please connect us! thanks 🙂
