    Thank you Steven,

I just found this posting on http://www.itourbeijing.com

“May will be the best choice. The general temperature in May is ranging from 17℃ to 26℃. Besides, there is less rain. The heavy rains are concentrated in July and August, which will ruin the fun your Chengdu trip.”

So with your note and this note on a posting, I’ll start my adventure in Bangkok in August, Udon Thani, Vientaine, Luang Pragbang, Mengla, Jinghong, Kunming, Ya’an and arrive to Chengdu in September! I’m very exciting about getting to Chengdu for the first time, I was planning starting in Chendgu, but why start in the rain when I could flip my trip to start in Bangkok.

Thank you for your note again Steven.

    Best, Andre’

September. The weather should be really nice then. Look out for August though, it’ll probably be really hot.

    Thank you Charlie,

My predicament is that it seems to rain more in August in Chengdu but rains more in Bangkok in September. I’m anxious to get to Chengdu for the very first time, but it’s best to be patient and travel away from the rainy forecast versus traveling with the rain. Hence my decision to start my travels in Bangkok in August traveling to Chengdu by mid-September as Chengdu’s weather improves from August to September.

Is there anyone on the Forum that might be involved with The American Chamber of Commerce South West China? http://www.amcham-southwest.org Would seem like a great way to get established and networked within the Chengdu business community. Just missed their June 24th Social night mixer! Darn!

Thanks again Charlie for your help.

    Best, Andre’

    Thank you Charlie!

It would be great to be introduced to Eli and hoping once I get to Chengdu in September, the chance to get together with him and you.

Here is my business and Web site, http://www.meeting-resources.com , I’ve been in the Hospitality Meetings Industry business most of my life.

I was just in Shanghai this past April for this industry event http://www.itcmchina.com and met a few great people from the great hotels of Chengdu like Kempinski, Shangri-La and the InterContinental.

    Thanks again,

    Andre’

September would be more manageable, and noticeably less humid, but I wouldn’t rule out August on that account. I think the threat of rain for August is probably overstated too, but I guess your decision should be based on what you intend to be doing whilst here. Less humidity would definitely make trekking, sightseeing, and anything physical more tolerable, but if you were just planning on being in the city it might not be such an issue.
