    1) Rebuilding The Rights of Statues (ReTros)

    2) New Pants

    3) Hedgehog

for Chengdu there is The Trouble

Also after seeing all the promos in HK for Lisa Ono it would be cool to see Japanese Bossa Nova. Not sure how Extreme will be, but ReTros is my fav Chinese band after a bone-chilling set at Little Bar a few years back

James is implying they Zergling rush me so I stop whining.

but I GOT bunkers full of firebats

    starcraft for the win.

James, I’m a rural new england- er- who spent many a night tending the 1872 woodstove boiling maple sap down to the sweet viscous syrup with merlot and moleskin notebook in hand.

But in my spare time I write trojan viruses with the help of Anonymous to infect the Ctrip deathstar voting system with a swarm of zombie bot votes.

    Thanks BenjaminLee!

Yeah I would benefit from a small army of students but alas too I’m at a four person NGO.

June 19th is my last workday and I promised Sascha two more posts for ChengduLiving before I return to Amerika.

A 2000RMB voucher would really help with my return (~_~)

I know you want to generate lots of traffic for your site, but calling on people to vote everyday is a bit much. I feel that now I have to make begging for votes part of my daily routine on Weibo Twitter and Facebook.

I’ll bait the hook for “phishing” once or twice, but I’m not going for the “zergling rush” strategy of competition.

Can’t we just sit back with a glass of wine and be literary about this?

I want to vote for other pieces too, but I feel like I need to upvote myself in Fiction if I want to be competitive. Can I then vote for others in non-fiction and poetry on the same day?

    Dear My Chengdu Story entrants,

Congratulations! The second round of the Ctrip “My Chengdu Story” writing contest begins today, and you have survived to read and write another sentence.

The voting page will be up and running by 2PM today (Monday, 11 June) China time. Remember, you can vote once per day. Whether you only vote for yourself or spread it around is up to you.

For those of you who submitted more than one thing, remember that you are only eligible to enter the final round of judging for one piece. The piece with the most votes will be the one chosen for the final round.

In order to vote, you must have a Ctrip account. If you don’t have one, you can register here. Voting begins today and runs through next Friday, 22 June 2012.

Remember to tell you friends, share on Facebook, Twitter, G+ etc., and rally some troops behind you. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

    Good luck!

what’s with the spam votes bro? can’t the writing speak for itself? why do people need to bother their e-friends everyday and beg for votes?

    pretty hurt imo

what are your streetside fallbacks for a protein pinch?

    a) gong bao jiding gai jiao fan– (ask for half the normal rice) cant go wrong with chicken and peanuts

b)lamb kebabs– from xinjiang restaurants. also a big fan of gan bian chao mian if you aren’t counting carbs

    c) dou hua– know lots of you hate on tofu but a square of it now and again doesnt hurt

    d) random cold dishes from sichuan restaurants– big plates of green beans and tofu with chili oil

    e) mushroom + extra beef lanzhou noodles (post workout)

    f) Subway 15RMB 6 inch days Thursday turkey Friday Weird chicken patty. No mayo, just mustard

These days seem to be best for lean protein. Weds is fatty italian salami. Tues is ham, monday is a miniscule dollop of tuna. saturday seafood and sunday is decent roast beef but they used to have STEAK before.

I pretty much only have time to cook breakfast and a salmon/chicken broccoli dinner once a week. So I find myself falling back on these for lunch/ dinner/ Big Snax

Gavvie this is a forum for weightlifters not an infomercial for your miracle fruit juice.

Yeah lots of expats from EVERYWHERE are fat b/c the local diet is a slurry of greasy carbs and pork fat.

Not to mention the beer gut.

In 2008 I actually got “fat” when I came to China b/c I was a vegetarian and my body wasn’t used to all the animal fats and carb overload. b/4 that i was a fairly lean mountain biker, with a fairly weak upperbody

I see the trajectory moving towards favorite egg recipes.

I’m bummed that spinach is out of season, 4 eggs and a bundle of bo cai was my jam. I’m tired of scrambled eggs so I go for a double fried egg with ketchup on a piece of toast.

Should probably get back to 5 or 6 eggs now that im squatting over 100kg again. #SirAlmostSquatsAlot
