Mugwump’s debut album – Unspell (2015)
This is a pretty good floor friendly mix he did a few years ago:
While this is from 2014, I just caught onto this (recorded with Anton from the Brian Jonestown Massacre) –
The KVB – Out of Body EP (2014)
Bertalan FarkasParticipantPretty slow for me at the moment, is it because of the recent an
Bertalan FarkasParticipantDeerhunter is sounding pretty good so far, rawer then their more recent stuff, which is good in my opinion.
Another little 4AD group (called, ahem the National – AKA “I was afraid I’d eat your brains… ‘Cause I’m evil” ) are also sounding pretty good:
Anyone bothered with the Daft Punk album yet??
Bertalan FarkasParticipantFlew to NYC via Tokyo in January and the leg from Chengdu to Tokyo was direct with ANA. No worries.
I took the Air China flight to Tokyo via Beijing a few years ago and indeed was a hassle. My advise is to go for the ANA flight. Would be even nicer if it went to Haneda!
Bertalan FarkasParticipantYes, I am having issues too
Bertalan FarkasParticipantVPN is connecting but no sites are opening right now.

Bertalan FarkasParticipantDid I see Cold Cave on there? I mean they are proper good and should be well known for far afield (unless it’s a miss print or another band with the exact same name:

According to pitchfork former LCD Soundsystem/Melvins people involved with their new line up. They also are listing a Chongqing date on their official site so I think this is for real.
Love Comes Close is a classic and recommend to all! Electro Synth stuff – Italo via New Order. (might not be best on a big stage though!)
I will be there!
Bertalan FarkasParticipantThere won’t be too much sympathy for her across the Irish sea either:
Bertalan FarkasParticipantMy answer to that is:
No (They do have a real Kilkenny license plate behind the bar though! Wowee, ahem)
No (But not worst pint ever in history – that honour goes to the old Kitty O’Sheas’ in Beijing’s defunct south bar street – what was I thinking!!!????)

Bertalan FarkasParticipantThanks for pointing out the Juan Maclean release, good they are still around
Have been listening to John Grant, Pale Green Ghosts. Found out it was produced by Biggi in GusGus so that explains a lot. I highly recommend:

Interesting comparisons though – American Civil War and the Chinese Taiping Rebellion were the first domestic conflicts to fully deal with the complexities of newly developed automatic weaponry. Both ended up pretty bad for all and sundry. The American civil war had the highest percentage death toll per person involved and the Taiping the highest in a civil war ever. Bad news all around. No winners in this conversation I think.
