Thanks for the response– I will definitely check those out. I have yet to download WeChat but heard it’s a must for communication. I have a few other questions: Any idea where to buy a guitar? Which VPN’s work best in Chengdu? How much do average cellphone plans generally cost?
Guitar: Bought one from the online store Taobao (website in Chinese). Just look for the good sellers. (I’m selling an IBANEZ GRG170DX by the way).
VPN: It depends, expect service downtime (during the GFW updates). Astrill, ExpressVPN are good.
Cellphone plans: First of all, check which carrier has better signal at your place. China Unicom didn’t liked my old apartment and neighborhood for some reason. And for plans, I pay 50RMB each month and use limited 4G on-the-go (China Mobile). Ask some colleagues to help you out with this one.

As Charlie said, it’s not that uncommon in China (and who know’s why he’s frickin’ angry). I’ve read even uncanny and inhuman stuff before.

What would I do?
1. I will mention the exact sources in the video description and put a disclaimer note.
2. Never post it as original content (eg: in Youku)
3. Give out links to creators social profiles / website
4. Disable Monetization
If you upload well and organized with proper title and meta tags, the content creator would feel jolly good! at least we are pushing their content in China.
