IanParticipant
Like the rain it comes and goes… two weeks ago a lot of police were pulling bikes, because the big cheese was in town. You probably don’t need to worry until around the holiday period.
IanParticipantBen I wonder if you could give me some advice?
I have had a really slow connection to my VPN just using my macbook for the last few days. My iPad and phone have been working perfectly. Any suggestions? It uses an automatic DHCP address.
IanParticipantThe one that was meeting in bookworm
IanParticipantDave do you know if the photography group is still going?
IanParticipantAnybody using a Astrill router?
IanParticipantThx Dave
IanParticipantI always stay at Zhilam Hostel. http://zhilamhostel.com/ I don’t really spend much time in Kangding to be honest as I always head up to the Tagong area.
IanParticipantActually I have just won JPG Magazine’s photo of the week.
IanParticipantWe got the license yesterday. They changed the rules this month you need to translate your passport and work visa 100rmb. Also you need a passport photo. Probably the easiest document I have obtained in China.
IanParticipant@rick Zhun sheng zheng. Our office is near Wenshu Temple. I think they sometimes want the translation just to make more money.
IanParticipantIanParticipantWhen I first moved to Chengdu unfortunately I used to drink in The Shamcock. Dick was always stood at the bar in his bullet proof vest equipped with pepper spray and taser. To me he will always be known as Herman as in Munster.

IanParticipantI Have been living in Longquanyi for just over a year. For me it’s all about the environment and mountains. Luckily we have the metro line so it’s very convenient. The problem about living in the sticks it feels a bit like Chengdu 10 years ago. People pointing and calling you Lowai is a daily grind, but the positives outweight the negatives. Anybody else living in Longquanyi? I did see another Lowai once we both just looked at each other confused.
IanParticipantAM did you have to do any paperwork yourself regarding the 准生证 (zhun sheng zheng) ?
IanParticipantI saw a few guys smoking as well.
Sorry I should of linked Sascha article

IanParticipantThanks Ben, but unfortunately my wife is self employed.
Does anybody know if it is 15 working days?
IanParticipantThat’s what I’m worried about. Did you get the leave in the end Rick?
IanParticipantHow many burgers does it take to change a lightbulb?
IanParticipantI know it’s not buffet, but Bookworm does a great breakfast.
