Ok, found a couple. There’s in (or maybe near) Sichuan University.

There’s another close to “chengdu sports center” named “Champion Rink.”

My coworker says you can go at 西岭雪山, but not in the city. Maybe there is a secret place though? If so, I’d like to find it.

I had a health screening in China in June, then my company took me to get another one done when I arrived in Chengdu in August. So even though they say 6 months some employers still want you to do it here in Chengdu.

Nice! If the deposits don’t go through, just call them and ask for help with a manual verification or they might call you. I think you are able to send up to $500 before you’re verified. Try it out and see if you can get it to go through.

If you use a VPN, try to only log in when its not active. I was signing in from China and then with the VPN from America or the UK and had my account limited. Just one more hassle if you have to get it “unlocked.”

Palpal instructed me to open a second account. Go to paypal.com open an account with a different email and choose your location as “China Worldwide”. Now you’ll be able to add Union Pay cards.

Make sure your bank account is set up for online purchases, ICBC would have given you a scratch off card or a USB device. Then just add your card info and bank account as normal and wait to be verified. I had trouble verifying my account because the bank set my name up as all one word, paypal said this is pretty common in China. You can verify manually by sending them a copy of your passport and maybe something from the bank.

The actual transaction was kind of cumbersome the first time I tried. You request the amount to send in USD from your Paypal account. Once you confirm the amount, an ICBC pop-up window appears and you have to log in and confirm the purchase from there with either a scratch off code or a usb device. Internet Explorer is a must as ICBC’s website won’t work with anything else. To save frustration and error messages, make sure you know how much your purchase limits are set for.

To get money to my bank in the US, I send a payment from my Chinese paypal to my US paypal, then deposit into my bank account. Setting it up is a little tricky, but once its working, its easier and cheaper than going to the bank.

Here’s mine 7:00pm with China Telecom. I usually max out around 300-400 kb/s with torrents, I think we paid around 450 RMB for 3 months.

On a side note, i like how QQ profiles have a section for “blood type.” Defiantly something I’m concerned about with my online acquaintances.
