I have to add my thanks here too!
I have been to a few orchestras in Europe and really enjoyed seeing an orchestra here in Chengdu, even more with internationally recognized solo singers.

    Thanks Gary!

I mentioned her. She is awesome. I love her conversation with Tyrion, she owns him up – which doesn’t seem to happen much in conversations with him it seems..

My bad! But she still cant beat Tywin though. 🙂 In the books Tywin is one of the most respected (feared) characters in the whole series.

For a show filled with so many details I cant believe they didnt dye Daenarys and Cersei’s eyebrows. They are obviously brunettes lol

I love the witty characters myself (Tyrion, Tywin, Little finger), but i am surprised nobody mentioned Maergary’s grandmother. She is awesome!

Considering it will be a national holiday the place might be swarming with people though. When I went during to see the giant Buddha during the last holiday period there was a 2+ hour queue to get to the Buddha’s feet…

I’d recommend going when most people are working or a regular weekend.

Bummer, this screwed up my plans for the holiday.

How about getting together in a park, practice our frisbee throwing techniques, exhibit our badminton skills with an imaginary net, kick some feathers around (taizi?), make zebra jokes and have some beers in the process?

I would like to try an outdoor beginner’s rockclimbing course. Do you need special equipment or is it provided?

You know, it is said we are just like the ancient Egyptians: posting on walls and worshipping cats 🙂

I thank you all for the advice, but due to unforseen circumstances it would seem I am moving to an aquarium free apartment 🙁

    Thanks for the advice guys.

Unfortunately the only reptiles I love are ninja turtles so unless someone can tell me where to buy one of those I’m not going to get a reptile 🙂

I might go to the pet expo and see if it can change my mind, thanks for the advice Ray.

Otherwise I will do some research on aquaria and start with a beginners set up.

Did some research on this. You’re living even further from the centre than me. I live Lin Gang Lu Si Duan.

The 300 bus goes until 8pm only unfortunately. There are other buses going to city centre but from my experience you need to switch to another bus (mostly at Shi Yang bus station).

Not sure about a gym in your area. If there is an advantage about Shuangliu however it must be the price. I go to the gym at a local university (Southwest university for nationalities) which costs me only 120 RMB a month. Nothing too fancy and pretty run down equipment, but it gets the job done.

I do live in Shangliu indeed

    But whyyyy!?

Work related. I remember being told I would teach in a school in Shangliu. Coming from a tiny country as Belgium back then I had no grasp of how big Chengdu really is, so when i saw it on the map I thought: “Oh, that’s not so bad”. Joke’s on me when i arrived here lol.

I’ll be moving closer to centre soon though!

    Hey Nico,

I do live in Shangliu indeed, but when it comes to going to a bar I usually make my travel to city centre.

Where are you located exactly? I can recommend some good places to eat if not too far off from mine.

In terms of transportation you can take the airport bus 300. Goes from the airport all the way up to North Railway Station and it goes through key areas in city centre (Tongzilin, Renmin Nan Lu, Tianfu, etc.)

I got myself an e-bike recently and it sure comes in handy if you live so far out!

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Hey Jenise,

Not too sure what will happen myself, but it will be a good opportunity to learn the basics of golf. They’re also going to play some games making use of taiji gong fu. Don’t worry though, it’s not like it’ll end up in a brawl 🙂

I’ll get back with address once i get in touch with my friend organising this.
