This doesn’t seem very altruistic to me, since people would be doing it for the scooter…

then again, might just be semantics

It has been driving me crazy for a while now as well, so I complained last weekend. The manager asked me to give him some new music. So hopefully it will be different starting next week.

They don’t mind when you tell them to change.

Best solution: Ipod . blocks out the music and the annoying old dudes that are there every day around 4, scraping their throats and singing opera shit…

I like the interior, bit dark because of the lack of natural light, but ok.

place smelled like they had been frying something non-stop for 2 weeks though, maybe open a window in the kitchen or upgrade your ventilation.

Food was good, great to see Stella on the menu as well. I like my fries crispy though, they were kinda soggy. The salad we had was good, a bit sweet maybe because of the porc (which tastes really good). Next time i’m most def having the spare ribs!

one tip: don’t have the staff hover over tables and take away plates before people even swallowed their last bite. You simply can’t take one person’s plate, if the other is still eating.

I will eat here again and tell people to try

Vancl.com is where I buy my casual shoes/sandals. Big sizes, cheap and great service (no delivery fee, free exchange)

Taobao for sneakers, just don’t get the cheapest ones…

for Jeans, check the stores in Galleria (Pull & Bear has some bigger larger jeans).

If you ever need to go to Hong Kong for visa purposes, take a shitload of cash! big sizes, and cheaper than the mainland

@Hzwerks: never seen anybody (foreign) close to my height at megafit. Might be easier to spot than the 2 eyes, 1 nose and muscles…

gym wise: megafit. I have visited most of the gyms in Chengdu and this one is the biggest, cleanest and most professional one hands down. They are flexible with their prices, so bargain hard.

If you want some exercise tips, I can always help

Just go to the closest police station with your passport and the contract. That’s it, no questions asked. Be sure to check the dates when they hand you the document.

Also, they don’t speak any English in most police offices, so be able to say your country of origin, telephone number and basic info in Chinese. Or have a chinese friends phonenumber ready

Most gyms sell a small range of food supplements, albeit for inflated prices. You can check out the KG and Megafit gyms if you have money to spend.

A bigger size watsons sells a wide variety of powders and vitamin tablets, so you’re bound to find sonething that suits you. The one I picked up contains 8g of protein for 9g of powder and was about 350 kuai

Protein powder gives you what you expect from it. Extra protein you’re not getting from a natural source. So I see no reason to advise against protein powder as a protein source, unless you mean to say it shouldn’t be a replacement, but just an supplement.

If you were talking about the effectiveness of whey protein concentrate as a bodybuilding supplement, that’s another story entirely as there are as many theories as there are supplements…
