I agree completely. England got completely robbed with that goal that blatantly went in. This is why Americans think soccer is bullshit. When the ball goes in the goal it should count, regardless of what the referee’s subjective opinion is.
This years world cup has been wildly unpredictable. I’m really looking forward to seeing where it goes. The US has a good chance of making it to the semi-finals and I’d say Germany and Argentina have a great chance of making it to the finals. Portugal looks very strong as well, as does Holland, Switzerland and Brazil.
I’m happy that Italy and France are already knocked out! England barely squeezed through.
Welcome back to Chengdu, Kun. Not going to pubs or bars will cut you off from a lot of the foreigner community in Chengdu, but I would check out the Bookworm near Renmin Nanlu. Lots of foreigners hang out there and it’s a cool place.
Mandarin Club, nice! We’ve been wondering when someone would start a small private school like that.
There’s also a “second hand market” event at Hemp House on the 18th which is a good place to sell them, too.

How large is this thing? About the size of a washing machine, I assume?
I saw Alice in 3D at Wanda Guang Chang recently – it wasn’t bad, but overall not as impressive as Avatar. I think that’s the general consensus. I expect a lot of movies this year to really milk the 3D format in an effort to jump on the bandwagon.

MIDI lacks real headliners too though, doesn’t it? I will probably still go to Zebra depending on the weather.
What’s the approximate price on those? I’ve been hearing about them recently and would like to find out more information.
Have you seen the Kung Fu Chengdu group on Facebook? I think they’re inactive now because they haven’t answered my friend request in a few months. But I think there’s a group of foreigners who practice kung fu lurking somewhere in Chengdu.
