millymooParticipant
Hi there
that’s a lot of information haha are you still all meeting up during national week?
millymooParticipantYes I’m aware of all this but I need an airline name or private company name that can take a cat into the U.K. Specifically
millymooParticipantThat’s ok, I’m actually thinking of using it for stuff like that too. My Chinese needs improving haha
millymooParticipantI cant find it… it’s just a website for travellers to couch surf. I’m looking for a support group for people like me who are home sick or suffer from mental illness.
millymooParticipantFOUND AN APARTMENT. THIS CHAT IS NOW CLOSED!!!
millymooParticipantHi, I’m a film maker and script writer (graduated 2012 but have no work) in Chengdu, keen to find out more of what you’re looking for?
millymooParticipantI honestly thought Scots would be few and far between but it seems like we just get everywhere!! I have been looking at the food and it certainly looks delicious but i am preparing myself for some spicy dishes. Thanks for the heads up about the heating. I am always cold so I will investing in some long johns haha!!
I have recently got Wechat but can’t seem to add anyone… maybe it doesn’t like people who are not in the same area as me? My ID is emmyc13 if anyone wants to add me. It would be great to know some people before I arrive in January!
millymooParticipantI saw this topic and thought I would ask because I’ve heard that you can get a license in China and that does you for anywhere in the world? I don’t have a full drivers license only a provisional from the UK. If i got a license in China would that only cover China or could it be world wide?
millymooParticipantWoodWERD, it doesn’t cost that much, you can do the course online too and i’ve spoken to people in the UK (one girl actually knew my friend which was a huge coincidence) about it and it’s totally legit. My parents also scoped out the site and the school that contacted me and i’ve spoken with them on Skype and email and all the paperwork seems legit to. I guess it depends on the actual company/ school and their requirements.
millymooParticipantIt’s great to know that if i’m feeling homesick I can talk to someone who knows what it’s like. I’m excited about the food since I love getting a carry out from my local Chinese although I know that it will be completely different!
I haven’t had a bike since I was a kid so it’ll be interesting to see if I can remember the ‘etiquette’.
How’s the weather in Cheng Du, I have googled it but it would be great to hear from someone who actually lives there.
millymooParticipantHi,
I honestly never expected to find someone else from Aberdeen but glad I won’t be that homesick now haha. I was thinking of getting a bike, I keep seeing ones made of bamboo which look amazing and the bars that are mentioned on here look good to, and cheaper than the ones here in Aberdeen. How long have you lived in China?
millymooParticipantHi, I am actually away to teach english (as a foreign language) in Chengdu. I have no teaching experience what so ever and have not even trained to become a teacher but I am still allowed to go over and teach. My school said to me that because of this I have to fly to Bejing first to complete a TEFL 7 day intensive course which will then allow me a visa to teach in Chengdu.
Here is the site I was directed to with course dates and sign up info: http://tefl.chinajob.com/
I hope this helps 😀
