RachelParticipant
Hao,
I never got a message from you about getting some green tea. Do you still have some available?
RachelParticipantI thought we already located Jinkinson, got a picture of him Sunday morning.
Ahh Jastin Jinkinson. The true ‘living local legend’. Brilliant!
RachelParticipantHey Hao,
Looks good. I think the white tea is a little out of my price range right now, but I would still like the green tea. Let me know when you have the tea and we can arrange a time to meet. If you could give me a sample of some other teas, that would be great!RachelParticipantSure I can wait until next Tuesday. I’m interested in trying the white tea too! I love tea. How much is the White tea?
RachelParticipantI’m also interest in the 80 kuai kind. This is perfect because I need some presents for friends back home. I live near Charlie, so when you give him his, I can get mine at the same time.
Thanks!
RachelParticipantBoh Boh Boh!
Definitely the best parties I’ve been to in China. This one’s going to be another rager!
RachelParticipantQuote:Since it’s a woman who does the work, i doubt she can be able to do sports Chiropractic adjustments. I may be sexist but it’s the truth 9 out of 10 times.Seriously Jerry? What year is it? This is offensive and idiotic. Where are you getting these stats? 9 times out of 10. This is the dumbest thing I’ve seen you write so far. And you’ve certainly written a lot of dumb shit.
Thanks Charlie and Brendan for sticking up for us weaker sex.
RachelParticipantYeah! Excited for this!
RachelParticipantI thought the food at the spot was good but the last two times I went there the service was terrible. Messed up our orders, took a long time, told us they had run out of ingredients after we ordered, wouldn’t let us use a coupon that didn’t have any disclaimers on it about when it could be used. I’d go there again but my expectations aren’t high.
RachelParticipantI just got a ukulele for my birthday a week ago. I found a really good website that’s informative and has a lot of beginner songs that aren’t super lame. There’s also a free PDF about how to get started with your first uke. I’m super busy right now, but I’d be down to practice with you next month!

RachelParticipantThis is mean.
RachelParticipantAlso, I remember before I came to China I was telling my GYN that I was leaving the country and worried about finding birth control and she hooked me up with almost a years worth of birth control pill samples for free. That might be worth trying to do to buy you some time.
RachelParticipantI’ve had two IUD’s put in, one in america that bothered me and ended up slipping out, and a different one here in China that is awesome. I’ve never had kids either. I love the IUD and would highly recommend it. Like I said, I don’t have a whole lot of info for you. I saw a doctor in the last city I lived in, in another province and she was a friend of my friend. The experience was great but that doesn’t help you in Chengdu. I know there is a women’s hospital though, you could probably google. I’ll ask my friend who used to live here if she knows anything.
RachelParticipantI don’t have a lot of info for you but since no one has commented yet I thought I’d tell you the little that I have found myself. You can get birth control pills over the counter here, but it won’t be the same brands as back home. I was only offered one brand and I can’t remember the name off the top of my head but it was something silly like, “Mistique”. I actually opted to get an IUD. If that’s something you’re interested in, PM me and I can give you more info on.
RachelParticipantI hadn’t heard about this but I have some friends who work for wine companies in Chengdu. I’ll see if they have more information about the fair and post what I hear.
RachelParticipantI showed this episode to my university students a couple years ago. I thought they’d be a little offended by the part where Karl sees the great wall and dubs it the “Alright Wall of China”. I think they understood that it was coming from someone who has never traveled and was supposed to be funny. Or maybe they just didn’t get it at all. Either way, I think that show is hilarious!
RachelParticipantYes yes yes! I’m all about this.
RachelParticipantHaha, Charlie! That’s the one!
RachelParticipantThe one time I ate at Mike’s I didn’t see this, but I did hear the exact same thing from another person who ate there, about him yelling at employees in front of customers. AAAAWKWARD.
Welcome back Ray! We need to get together. I want to hear about your trip!
RachelParticipantI’m in! I’ve never seen the lost boys so that’s my vote. I just watched Wes Craven’s People Under the Stairs last night, from 1981 i think. Super creepy. Definitely gets you in the holiday spirit.
