Go to PowerHouse Gym, ask for Mark, and tell em that Botts sent you so I can get a free month. It has all your requirements, and it is just off of Jinli Dong Lu, across the river from the big boat.

Hysterical thread! I came back at once when the conversation turned back to food, specifically ribs. Is it just me, but this cooler weather has the ole appetite skyrocketing outa control? Gonna get me some margaritas and tacos, and sour cream, chips & salsa, guacamole tonight…

I think I may unsubscribe from this thread for a while. You guys are lighting up my inbox. It is funny though, so I will hang in there for a bit longer. New Haven, CT is the home of the original US hamburger as seen on Man vs. Food featuring Adam Richman. Used a special vertical cooker and white sliced bread. Other than that, keep me posted in all things Lazy Pug…

So these past two (2) Thursday Taco Night / Free Margarita Night has been a blast, not to mention the awesome soft chicken and beef tacos, loaded up with lettuce and tomatoes. The guacamole was made at the bar with really fresh ingredients and was da bomb with the homemade chips and salsa. Also, got side order of sour cream to go along with the soft tacos.

I expect that Thursday night will be a good one for a while in Chengdu as long as the kitchen does not run out of the ingredients and the owners don’t raise the prices too much. It is hard to find better Mexican around here with such great preperation at relatively small cost, and the ladies drink free margaritas until 9pm, and they are the good ones… Let me know what you think

    OK,

The marks stayed on my back for two weeks, and 5 days, first of all.

I did start to feel better from a summer cold I was getting and I genuinely liked the sucking sounds that came from the removal of the cups. I also enjoyed the explanations to my kids and strangers while we were at the beaches in Eastern Canada.

I am now the Cliff Clavin of chinese medicine.

I sincerely appreciate all that you do to promote the City of Cheng Du along with all of the activities in and around Sichuan.

    OK,

So, I have been going back to the see the “Pugs” for the last two weeks after I returned from summer vacation in Canada.

Before I left the Du last month, I noticed that the “puggies” had been working on some changes to the menu, and adjustments to the decor, all while trying to respond the feedbacks they received from here and other sites.

I say, enough is enough!! You now have it dialed in!!!

The food is consistently good, the music is fanastic, drinks are generous, and the new painting and clean surroundings make the Lazy Pug the #1 happy hour, sunday brunch, early dinner, and late supper spot in the Du.

Looking forward to TACO NIGHT on Thursday with free margaritas from 7-9 for the ladies (before that other free wine night at 9), and brunch next Sunday, not to mention the brand new fresh juicing machine.

Keep up the good work, Pugsters, puglettes, puggies and Pugs. This is the one place to get ya sum real good mid-western style grub while you are here in the Du.

Let me know what you think about that.

I must confess, I have eaten at the “Pug” a few times now. I felt compelled to write a review about my meal there last week.

I have become a fan of the owners, the staff, the salads, and in particular, the pulled pork itself, which is cooked for around 15 hours after getting a generous rubdown of spices. It is really good stuff.

I was there last week when I decided to have the ribs for the first time. It was a good-sized portion of ribs, and it came with red cabbage slaw and their killer hand-cut fries. The meat was tender, as well as very high quality, and it was obvious right away that a lot of work went into finding this kind of quality meat in Chengdu. Also the preparation was excellent. I would say, really, that these were as good as any ribs I have had.

The best thing about this place, besides the food, is the atmosphere in the bar area. They have a wide range of martini-styled drinks, but I like the Mohitos, which were on special that night. I would say it is unique to Chengdu, and should be a place where everyone feels comfortable and relaxed. I hope more and more people get to experience the “Pug” and get to know the people who work there, as well as trying out the food.
