@Xmo: Shanghai is so big with a foreigner population (western countries) of 200 K. Plus there are half million Taiwaness and many Korean, Malay. Basically Taiwaness and Korea live in the west part called “Hongqiao” area, people from west countries live in “Xuhui” or “Jingan” district. There are many general consulates around this area, I guess this is the reason the west population was developed.
Many bars, foreigner shops, restaurants. Hundreds of museums, galleries, cinemas, theaters. Parties are everywhere and in everyday. I would like to say, it is not only a place for work, but also a great place for living.

Noedays more and more people are switching from QQ and Weibo to Weixin(Weichat).
My understanding is that although QQ and Weibo also have the version for Mobile equipments, but Weixin (Weichat) is using your contract list to recommend some friends to you. And by this, your network expand quickly. Weixin (weichat) is more a kind of mobile application.
And some other feature like you can send voice message, or use it as walkie-talkie, or have vedio call. And you can also shake your phone to get connect to someone who is shaking his/her phone at the same time.
Amazingly and unbelievly, one of my friend in Qatar and one in Singapor are also using Weixin.
And like Weibo/Facebook, you can also share topics and picture (only) with linked friends).
Belive me, one day, Weixin (weichat) will replace QQ.
