I brought a couple from jd for about 850 each. Reason for Jd is they takes cash on delivery.

btw the 2nd gen mi purifier is going to be roughly  100 rmb cheaper. (But currently nowhere in-stock)

Tumble dryers are pretty rear in china.  And  yes , the Combi-waching machines are quite pricey(the cheapest is about 4000 kuai)

I once  saw a Toshiba tumble dryer on sale in B&Q for about 2000. And it’s quite small.

There are alternative(cheaper) ones on jd/taobao. Try search by keyword “干衣机”.

you can rent/hire a “bread” van for about 200 kuai per day from around the city

also I’ve seen bicycles available to rent near longquanyi, not particularly good ones though.

Streaming from Chinese services is especially convenient when watching with Chinese friends who want to watch with subtitles. When downloading I have to get subtitles manually.

not sure which media player you’re using.
if you need subtitle for your downloads, try splayer from splayer.org
It will automatically match and download the subs for you. and it even has a “international version”.

a few main stream chinese mediaplayer has the equivalent feature but no english version. plus they all have way too much pupup spams.

The chopsitcks thing isn’t big here but it still means something in Taiwan where they have retained a lot of the traditional culture. It’s supposed to represent incense sticks on a grave. I found that out on my first night there, everybody looked at me in horror when I did it.

that is the right answer for the chopsticks thing
for similar reason, when put food in a plate, do avoid the number 5.
4 or 6 items in a plate is acceptable. wiredly 5 is a taboo.

it had happend in shanghai a couple years ago that they banned unplated moped all together. and all gas station stopped sell petorl to riders, beard or not.

even in that kind of situation you can still get petrol from shops that repair motorbike.

Try one of those private run gas station. as long as there isn’t a police officer around, they wouldn’t bother fill up a tank for your bike.

After incidents of kunming and wulumuqi, officials are kept on edge everywhere in China. companies like sinopac and shell have been requested not to sell patrol to someone showed up with a container.

I’ve recently got some resonablly decent yunnan beans off the internet at around 20kuai per bag. A bargain it is , but coffee from yunnan are not that stablized, both flavor& quality wise.

I prefer illy’s which is not that expensive considering the quality. I got it from a bejing based vendor at a discont price for less than 80 kuai a can. which is 30 cheaper than walmart.
