Dawei is a Chinese artist whose style of work melds both eastern brushwork with more western styles and subjects. His mainly figurative work is strong and emotional. He has a studio in both the UK (Brighton) and Chengdu.

Dawei has a solo show at the Jia Gallery starting on 17th August (at 4pm), ending on 10 September.
Address is: Art Hotel, 299 Tainren North Second Road, Chengdu (in the south, nearest Metro stop is South Train Station on Line 1).
This looks pretty cool. Kind of a haunting style of portraiture. Thanks for posting this info, I added it to the August Events thread.
