Huyang, aka Nichifanlemei is a DJ and producer based in Chengdu who has recently been playing all over China (Beijing and Wuhan within the last few weeks alone). He invited me to play this event with him next weekend with an interesting theme: play a kind of music that we’d normally never play.
He selected minimal techno for me, which is something I’m not used to but I have a love for minimal techno after visiting the Detroit Electronic Music Festival twice in the early 2000’s. You’ll have to come to the show to see what he’s playing – it won’t be normal fare for him either (he’s known for playing house and techno).
The event is free and is on Sunday, which is right before Duanwujie, a three day holiday!
This looks pretty cool and off beat.
Come check it out, we’re going to cycle up there directly after watching the Outdoor Movie (Rush Hour).
