This upcoming Saturday Chengdu is hosting what will definitely be the biggest hip show in a very long time. This event isn’t really geared for foreigners per se, but if you’re interested in seeing how hip hop is developing in China, this is a landmark event for the entire region of Western China.
Rappers coming from Beijing, Guangzhou, Yunnan, and more places across China for this. It’s located in the East Music Park at a new spot that I haven’t been to but I know that 700 pre-sale tickets have been sold already. It’s very rare that live music events of this size happen in Chengdu at all. Here’s the Douban listing: ????x??????? link to buy tickets (60 in advance, 80 at the door).
So I have 5 free tickets to give away, one per person, first come first serve!

November 25, 2012 at 6:13 am #23963CharlieKeymasterI walked through the door to hear them calling me out on stage with no DJ present last night. But by the end it all worked out really well. The caliber of rappers in Chengdu has risen dramatically in recent years!!
Some photos, I will post more high-res photos on my blog:
November 25, 2012 at 6:21 am #23965AMParticipantLooks class.
Quote:I walked through the door to hear them calling me out on stage with no DJ present last night.haha, the joys of doing gigs in chengdu. I was told at 11pm yesterday that the hemp house forgot to rent decks.
November 25, 2012 at 6:29 am #23968JustinParticipantIt was a fun show and the biggest hip-hop event I’ve been to in Chengdu. The crowd seemed to get more hype for the home town CDC crew. Fat Shady looked like he got a lot of love and had a big group of fans waiting for autographs after the show.

November 26, 2012 at 7:59 am #23984Ye MingParticipantIt was a good show! It was nice to see real hiphop in China. Only bummer is that even in this show they played a version of gangnam style… Thanks for the ticket Charlie!
