Importing beer and wine

I’m on my way to Chengdu soon (later this month) and planning on staying for a few months. I’d like to send over some favorite beer and wine after I get there.

Anyone know anything about the procedure to import beer and wine? Or know how I’d get that information? FYI, I don’t speak Mandarin, but I do know several Chinese natives in Chengdu, so I can ask them to help out with filling in forms etc. if I have some idea of where to start :).

It’s going to be very expensive, I think you can just ship them over as you would anything else. Maybe someone else has done this and can provide more detailed information.

I met a guy a few months ago who had a huge collection of American beers (like Dead Guy, Flat Tire, etc). It’s certainly possible.
