    Medical Clerk

    Position Summary

    The position of Medical Clerk is a new, permanent position with Peace Corps. The Medical Clerk will be part of a four-person medical team responsible for the well-being of US-China Friendship Volunteers (Peace Corps Volunteers, or PCVs.)

    The Medical Clerk is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to the medical unit and assists in the arrangements of all medical events, including but not limited to:

    • Preparation and delivery of Health Training to PCVs,

    • Maintaining medical documents and up-to-date, organized files/records

    • Administering vaccines

    • Traveling to PCV sites with Medical Officer to check on the well being of PCVs

    • Physical exams given to PCVs annually

    The position requires someone who has good organizational skills, patience with details, an ability to troubleshoot, experience maintaining records and appropriate medical training to respond appropriately and in a timely manner to support requests made by the Medical Officers.

    Qualifications

    •Solid command of English language, both written and verbal

    •Administrative experience in a medical facility or office

    •Some medical training or experience; Certificate of Public Health, Medical School, Nursing, or Pharmaceutical preferred

    •Highly developed communication and organizational skills

    •Experience working with foreign persons and/or organizations

    •Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

    •Demonstrates willingness to learn new systems and motivation to improve existing capabilities

    •A positive attitude towards China, its people, and the goals of Peace Corps
