There is a farmer in Xipu that offers fresh organic vegetable delivery
service in Chengdu. Basically twice a week he picks the veggies from
his fields and delivers them to your door. I visited his farm this
past weekend and he’s very welcoming to those who want to know where
    their food comes from.

Each week deliveries happen on Monday and Thursday night. The price is
40 kuai per delivery and when you sign up you pay 1000 kuai for 3
    months (12.5 weeks) of deliveries.

The only challenge is some of the veggies that are delivered are not
the kind from western countries. But with a little research and trying
new recipes, they can be equally as delicious.

If your interested in signing up you can call Li Xueyou family farm at
13548017389. However he doesn’t speak english, so call 13618027886 if
    you want help signing up.

I attached a picture of a standard delivery.

“organic vegetables” /facepalm. I didnt know there are inorganic ones.

Still, fresh ones are a good thing.

This looks great but judging by that photo I would have no idea how to cook some of the more obscure local vegetables. Has anyone ever signed up for anything like this before? Delivery does sound really convenient.

Organic vegetables are those which don’t use pesticides which are deemed to be harmful to humans. There’s a lot of wiggle room within the “organic” distinction.

I heard about this before. Maybe you could convince them to do a ‘Laowai Combo’? Carrots, onions, eggplant, cucumber, spinach etc.
