I lived in Georgia for a year for a high school exchange program, and spent 5 years in Rhode Island.
Yeah, indeed, judging from the speed and trend of the development in the are I live, I would certainly agree on the opportunities Chengdu offers to designers and architects. Though I personally work in company that involves in the reconstruction of the earthquake, not much high-rise or commercial buildings. That been said, I would have tons of opportunities going outside of Chengdu, for example, Yia-an, Bi fung chia…etc. but not much chance exploring the city itself. So I would love to participate more communities “inside” the city.
As for the Taiwanese communities, I actually could not find any of them so far, do you have any recommendation or connections?
From reading previous posts and comments, I recognize that there are places like bars and bookstores where people hangout. However, I wonder if there are any design or art lovers communities as well. There seems to be many biking events, maybe I should seriously consider getting a bike 🙂 (I have cycling around Taiwan once)
