Any photographers interested in meeting up and taking shots together? We can go to a park or local sight, or just walk around on the street.

I have a Canon 40D and I’ve been shooting for about ten years but recently my equipment has fallen into disuse. If you’re a Canon user also, we can swap lenses or whatever. I have a 50mm prime, a 28-125mm walkaround, and a 12-24mm wide angle lens.

Now that the weather is picking up, I’d like to get back out there! I live in Yulin, south Chengdu.

Ahh yes, the 18-55mm kit lens. I still have my first dSLR, a Canon 300D – that also came with the 18-55.

    Are you in Chengdu?

Seems like there’s great weather every day recently – I’ll plan to run around the city next Saturday taking photos. Anyone who wants to join is welcome to!

To anyone using a Canon camera, maybe we can exchange lenses – I’d like to try something new.

Anyone looking to find like minded photographers seeking to record their stay in China can do so with the Chengdu Photography Club. We meet monthly at the Bookworm and arrange informal outings to locations of our choice.

To keep posted then simply log into Yahoo as you would for your email and visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CDphoto/ where you can sign up in order to be notified of Club events or to communicate with other members either individualy or as a group.

Meanwhile, the next meeting of the Chengdu Photography club is at the Bookworm on Thursday 5th July at 7.30 pm. We have a wide range of photographic experience and our critique can be particularly useful to those seeking technical advice or inspiration.

The theme for the month is “Free Style” meaning that the critique is open to a maximum of three submissions in ANY subject. As usual the objective is to present images taken within China.

The next meeting of the Chengdu Photography Club is at the Bookworm on this Monday 1st October at 7:30PM. The theme for discussion is ‘panoramic imaging’ so you are welcome to join us and bring no more than 3 examples of your panoramas on a USB drive/stick that you would like to present for review or advice. Meetings are informal and no prior registration is required.

Yes, we are still active and meet on the first Monday of every month at 7.30 pm in the Bookworm. (subject to Bookworm availability). Our next meeting is, therefore, on 4th February and the theme for the month is “costumes and uniforms including police personnel, halloween costumes, cosplay etc”. Members registered on our Yahoo site will receive an email a couple of days before as a reminder.

If you wish to be notified of meetings, events or just general chat then log into Yahoo and go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CDphoto/

We have also started a website for displaying some of our pictures:
