I’ve been asked to find someone to replace me in my English teaching job in September, as I’ll be returning to the UK.
Here is a summary of the role – I can send a full job description to anyone who is interested.
– English teacher in a private college, teaching 18-21 year olds.
– Based 15 miles from Chengdu in Tong’an Town
– Picturesque campus includes restaurant, gym, sports ground, shop. Many shops, restaurants and markets in the town.
– I teach Extensive Reading and Cambridge BEC (Business English)
– 18 hours per week basic. I teach 4 hours per week overtime plus occasional evening English Corner lessons and English lectures.
– Currently 4800 RMB (approx 510 GBP) per month (80 RMB per hour for overtime)
– Free accommodation – self contained flat inc. bedroom, kitchen, bathroom
– International office provide visa assistance, airport pickup, etc.
– Flights paid for

coppersParticipantEvening all – near-Chengdu based teacher here (my first post) – pleased to find this forum and thread!
I see Shaking the Habitual is now streamable at http://theknife.net – slowly stuttering through it on my slow connection, despite the hype, so far it sounds like their least accessible album yet.
Also recommend Bonobo’s new LP The North Borders which was released the other day – http://ninjatune.net/release/bonobo/the-north-borders.
I appreciate being directed to the shop near the Leg and Whistle – picked up a Public Image and a Japan CD (bit of a New Wave / 80s fan) plus Miss Kittin’s first album for less than 50 Kwai.
