Aye, you know how these things go.

I think originally they wanted the headliners on day 1 to be outside on that huge stage. Day 2 & 3 were always gonna be inside. I don’t think Shadow was ever meant to play outside.

It’s an opening ceremony for the whole area. That huge outside area will be for bands/singers/speeches etc. xiong mao only have a 2 hour time slot there.

As stated Shadow is definitely playing. Efdemin and Lawrence both playing on the 1st. They have a VJ coming with them from Berlin too.

They’ve scaled back the outdoor side of it so all of those guys will be playing in the club.

    Some more info here

Way too much for me. 500 per round would be my limit.

There is one in that mall behind carrefour but I didn’t think it was anything special.

I’ll need to give it another try if there aren’t any more about.

I think the latter would apply. I guess they’re making harder for new bikes to be registered.

I’m not sure how accurate their information was either, it could be a load of BS.

My girlfriends folks live out in shuang liu so I asked about getting them to register a bike out there for me.

They told me that it’s now near impossible to buy bikes with real plates as the plates cost more than the bike.

Ke Hua Jie, Chuan da hua yuan (2f)

    科华街1号附19号2楼

If you say “chuan da hua yuan” most taxi drivers will know where it is. It’s directly opposite the wowo on the 2nd floor.

I was at the first main junction south of tian fu square on ren min. Pulled up at the lights and got stopped by one of the traffic cops. First time I’d been stopped in over a year of having it.

I tried to talk my way out of it (ting bu dong!) but he wasn’t having it. He told me the minimum fine was 1000rmb. My bike was worth 500 tops. I just left.

    New one cost 1600.

I had an old battered 125cc before but the cops took it off me.

I bought a newish 50cc about 6 months ago and I’m more careful about where I ride it now. I only have it because I work outside the 3rd ring road. It takes 30 minutes door to door from yulin on it. It would take way more than an hour on electric bike or by bus.

In my opinion the newer 50cc is faster for zipping about than the 125. Now I’d only buy a larger bike if I was planning to go on a longer journey.

    Ben;

“Plates to ride within the 2nd ring road will cost ~15,000RMB. There will undoubtedly be lots of queuing and red tape involved. It doesn’t matter what cc the bike is, unless it’s under 50! It’s the same procedure for both license and plates.”

So it’s legal to ride a 48cc Scooter inside the 2nd ring road?

The match is in Newcastle so I doubt it will be cancelled.

There are also a couple of Newcastle fans in Chengdu.

If you have friends and you want to play together there are 5 a side pitches in the mall near carrefour, at decathlon (next to ikea) and inside the stadium at Sichuan University. The pitch at decathlon is free but you have to pay for the other 2.

If you want to just head along and join in a game go to any of the full size pitches at Sichuan University. There will be plenty of games there. You can’t play at that pitch on the first ring road now because the Sichuan team use it for training.

If you want to play with some foreigners then come along to hua xi* 6pm on Wednesday nights as the Wanderers train there.

*head from computer city towards tian fu square on ren min nan lu, the gate will be on the right hand side of the road, opposite a dicos (next to the hua xi ba subway station). Enter the campus and the pitch is about 100/200 metres ahead on the left.

PM me if you want more information.
