Can get as low as 50RMB for Aipu according to a flyer I’ve seen in my building, depending on the contract length of course.

China Telecom peering to servers outside of China can already be extremely slow at peak times, so I don’t want to know what kind of connectivity you get to foreign servers for that money.

It’s cheaper, by how much depends on where you buy it from in the mainland (official store, reseller or taobao).

If you’re heading to the US in the near future or know people that can bring you Apple products from the US it’s cheaper than HK.

Also HK iPhones have WiFi which is not available for mainland iPhones due specific deal terms with China Unicom.

I’ve recently found a shop that sells all kinds of non local food products at good prices to restaurants and normal consumers alike.

Some products like canned tomatoes are only available in giant sizes for restaurant usage though.

They do deliveries if you order for 200RMB+, but not sure to which areas.

They’re located near Tianfu Square 028-88828820 (not sure if they speak english).

According the book “Extra Virginity” most olive oil originating from Europe can’t be trusted.

If you really want olive oil get some recently produced organic one which I’ve seen at Ito Yokado and hope that it isn’t cut with rancid oil (which is toxic).

Olio Nuovo (the freshest extra virgin olive oil) seems entirely unavailable in China.

    Taobao for non perishables.

Brian #10 it saves you a lot of time and in Shanghai the prices are the same or lower than in supermarkets with free delivery.

Due to the lower expat population here I don’t foresee any alternatives to WaiFood appearing.

Never had anyone offering me cheaper teas so far, but I just say never mind and walk out after looking at menus with crazy prices.

I think it’s kinda funny that wen shu seems to have the most reasonably priced tea houses with few teas priced higher than 20RMB, given the fact that it’s a relatively touristy area.

If Good Wood Coffee would try to sell cans of coffee for 60RMB+ in the US that contain an amount of coffee which would fit in a normal sized coffee cup, they’d close up shop in no time.

Scan whatever you want to fax and fax it online.

    Google “send fax online”.
