    Hi Eli,

Thank you for your e-mail and it’s great to meet you.

Networking and meeting people in the hospitality industry is exactly what I’m looking forward during my time in Chengdu. I did have the chance to attend http://www.itcmchina.com in Shainghai this past April and I’m looking forward to furthering my knowledge and relationship building within China.

I’ll be sure to e-mail Tiffany Zeng, thank you and will keep you posted on my arrival to Chengdu, September 3 for my stay of a few weeks.

Eli, my Skype ID is andrepkelly….as well, it would be great to touch base before my arrival and I’m sure it will take a day or two to pick up a Sim Card and get unpacked and settled flying in from Arizona.

    Thank you once again!

    Hi Rick,

    Nice to meet you.

Thank you for the note about your experiences with AmCham.

I plan to arrive Chengdu on September 3 and hope to have the chance to meet a few of my business associates with the Kempinski Hotel, Shangri-La hotel and Intercontinental hotel as well.

I am an independent corporate meeting event organizer and thought to reach out to as many business networking opportunites as possible.

I also just received my TEFL accreditation, Teaching English as a Foreign Language last year in Chaing Mai Thailand. I have had my thoughts on helping teach the fundamentals of Hotel English to the luxury Hotels of China for fun and to help the service staff along with consulting with luxury and independents hotels that would welcome the help.

I also, as a matter a fact, because of your posting about http://www.StrongVPN.com signed up for my account today! Very impressed with their service, thank you!

I hope we’ll have the chance to meet during my stay!

    Best, Andre’

I did Charlie, it just came to be today to ask the forum if there would be a preferred difference.

Based on great recommendations of this board, Hakka Homes looks like a great place to stay for my first time in to Chengdu, location, quality and price. Looking forward to my arrival.

Have you had a chance to mention to Eli about my interest in http://www.amcham-southwest.org? Looking forward new business networking during my stay in Chengdu.

My Skype ID is andrepkelly, it would be great to communicate with you before my arrival if possible.

    Thank you Charlie!

It would be great to be introduced to Eli and hoping once I get to Chengdu in September, the chance to get together with him and you.

Here is my business and Web site, http://www.meeting-resources.com , I’ve been in the Hospitality Meetings Industry business most of my life.

I was just in Shanghai this past April for this industry event http://www.itcmchina.com and met a few great people from the great hotels of Chengdu like Kempinski, Shangri-La and the InterContinental.

    Thanks again,

    Thank you Charlie,

My predicament is that it seems to rain more in August in Chengdu but rains more in Bangkok in September. I’m anxious to get to Chengdu for the very first time, but it’s best to be patient and travel away from the rainy forecast versus traveling with the rain. Hence my decision to start my travels in Bangkok in August traveling to Chengdu by mid-September as Chengdu’s weather improves from August to September.

Is there anyone on the Forum that might be involved with The American Chamber of Commerce South West China? http://www.amcham-southwest.org Would seem like a great way to get established and networked within the Chengdu business community. Just missed their June 24th Social night mixer! Darn!

Thanks again Charlie for your help.

    Thank you Steven,

I just found this posting on http://www.itourbeijing.com

“May will be the best choice. The general temperature in May is ranging from 17℃ to 26℃. Besides, there is less rain. The heavy rains are concentrated in July and August, which will ruin the fun your Chengdu trip.”

So with your note and this note on a posting, I’ll start my adventure in Bangkok in August, Udon Thani, Vientaine, Luang Pragbang, Mengla, Jinghong, Kunming, Ya’an and arrive to Chengdu in September! I’m very exciting about getting to Chengdu for the first time, I was planning starting in Chendgu, but why start in the rain when I could flip my trip to start in Bangkok.

Thank you for your note again Steven.

    Best, Andre’

    Thank you Matt and 3li4s,

I am aware of Hakka Homes after reading through the forum and thought to ask if there are any other recommendations.

I don’t see the Yulin area on google map? – is their another landmark that will help me find the Yulin area? or any cross-streets would be helpful too. A fairly new extended stay hotel or short term apartment (1 month) with fast internet speed close to a large University and great restaurants, neighborhood recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
