Hey all if anyone fancies some Table Tennis sometime send me a PM, would defo be up for a game sometime!
Matt321Participanthaha I have the same problem. Especially at weekends not opening till like Midday, it needs to be at like 8 or 9am at least.
Matt321ParticipantHi Zita,
Looking to meet new people too as I’ve not met many non Chinese people here, when you’re here send me a PM if you like. I’m here till around July, from England 🙂
Matt321Participant@Ray
Yep know that feeling, wherever you go in the world it seems there will be mobile using people at the gym – very frustrating!
£180 for a year? That’s unbelievable for the UK, I’ve paid between £20-£25 a month at home which is £240-£300 a year and thought that was decent, though £20 a month is a lot cheaper than other gyms around at home.
It comes down to bartering since I got 688 for 4 months even though originally it was 688 for 3 at Megafit. Generally that seems like the average price, though you will probably get better value for a year or 2 years membership paid up front.
Matt321Participant@Ray
Ok thanks for that, won’t be extending it after it runs out then just in case! Though I would hope that 3 more months from now will be ok,
Yeah you do notice how quiet it is a lot of the time in there, back home gyms are never this quiet.
Matt321ParticipantI’d not heard about that Ray, do you know why it might?
But yeah same hope it doesn’t because it is quality.
Matt321ParticipantThanks Rick, I only asked since on the London Underground you can get things like day travelcards where you use the same ticket on one day and can go anywhere to multiple stations.
Matt321ParticipantApologies over restarting this topic, but I need some help if possible and can’t start a new topic? When going on Metro, can you get a multiple journey ticket e.g going to Century City but being able to stop at Tongzilin on the way using just 1 ticket? Or do you have to get a new ticket for each new journey from a station? Thanks
Matt321ParticipantHi, sorry to restart this topic but a good place I have found and joined is the Megafit gym in the TopCity Centre, about 20 minute walk from Tianfu Square and close to Chunxi Lu – 688 for 4 months not too bad can’t complain.

Is this what you’re talking about Charlie? Or something else?No the place I’m talking about is indoors and gigantic – I’d estimate there are 20 ping pong tables in the room.
Sounds pretty good, gonna have to take a trip there and show these Chinese how table tennis is really played….!
Matt321ParticipantThere’s a place above carrefour in tongzlin which is fine. We went there once and they also have badminton. you can rent the rackets if you don’t have and i remember they charged something like 30-40 an hour! Other than that I usually play in my housing complex which is located near high-tech zone subway. I am interested as well to play pingpong once a week. Lets do it sometime next week?
Hi Pardhu yes that sounds great! Would be able to tomorrow anytime, or Tuesday afternoon from around 2pm, if not then sometime next weekend? Either at Tongzilin or the High Tech Zone I don’t mind, Let me know!
Matt321ParticipantNice one much appreciated, will definately take a look soon.
Matt321ParticipantThat’s great thank you Charlie. Do you have an idea where the University is roughly, struggling to find out where abouts it is? And do you know whether you just turn up and there is always people playing or is there set times the ping pong is on?
Thanks!
