Maybe it’s a dark thread and I don’t get any pleasure in posting it. I’ve told her to visit that place first lilnked to here where they have English speaking staff. She told me it’s 2 and a half months.

I thought that you could not personally carry dangerous items personally. But if something is ‘locked’ away where nobody can reach it and start causing chaos….I bet that if I had taken it on the plane and not included in my hand luggage I would have been ok. Anyway, I will find out later and let you know.

Maybe charlie but Parcelforce aren’t being very good either. The guy on the phone….’an agent’ is what he was called said he would look into it and phone me back yesterday. He didn’t. But he did say that the lorry driver should have pointed out the damage and I check it’s contents. He probably wanted to get away quickly and finish his day’s work. I personally don’t think I have a leg to stand on because I didn’t kick up a fuss at the time. If I ever do this again, I will know what to do next time.

They ‘Parcelforce’ said they would get back to me yesterday but did not. ‘Yesmaybe’ I agree one would have thought that they would have put a removal notice on it but there’s nothing. Also, they hadn’t sealed the box up properly. But the knife was really cheap. There were some other things in there which were more expensive. I’ll phone them again later.

I put everything in the box from another box at the PO in Chengdu. I had a local there helping me. They sealed the box there in from of me with tape…..so I don’t know where that happened. There were other things more valuable in the box that this very cheap knife.

If you can get to Long Quan which really is no problem from Xin Nan Men bust station…..you can get to the Sichuan Institute of Higher Cuisine. The college also has sports courses. It has an enormous ‘rock climbing’ wall which I think you would be able to use for a small fee. It really is huge and somebody said it was the biggest in China or it was used in the Asian games or something like that marking it out as being special. Once in Long quan, you take the 878 bus which runs every few minutes and goes right past the college. Total cost from central Chengdu…..7Rmb. Total time to get there….around 1 hr from Xin Nan Men.

You will be on the voters register in France. Contact them….probably via your local authority. You should be able to get a proxy vote in this way ie you name somebody else like a family member who can vote for you. That’s how I did it a few years ago but I am from the UK but the system may well be similar.
