Ok so I thought I uploaded a file that is the flier. Festivities start at 8:30, carol sheets will be printed out, and Gary will be making malt wine. Join in for some boisterous holiday cheer. At the Underground bar, on the Belgian (google will give you an address).
I have pictures but they’re not loading. Picture a one-bedroom apartment with fake hard-wood floor, Ikea’s best, and windows overlooking Jiuyanqiao.
I went to Mimosa today and got the spicy chicken burger. I can’t recommend it more highly.
What Janice forgot to mention was that she used to work at Let’s Burger in Beijing, the capital’s prime burger place. She knows what she’s doing. (sorry Janice if I got the name of that restaurant wrong.)
They’re remodelling for the rest of the September. Just saying, October = month of the spicy chicken burger.

Addressing the questions:
Everyone participating will get a free Belgian beer (or two), for the road. In addition to this hand-out, there will be deals at bars as decided by the bar — most are around half-price drinks.
There will be 5-6 bars visited. There will be at least 2 “classic” Chengdu expat bars, 2 newish, nicer Chinese bars, and one more. The list is not finalized, but that’s the basic run-down.
It is on a Thursday night because Friday nights bars get very crowded, and some of the participating bars did not think they could keep up with an extra-large crowd on Friday.
However!
There will be more pub crawls in the future, especially if this one goes well. Next time it can be done on a Friday include less busy bars. This time it is on a Thursday.The list is not finalized yet. 🙂 But there will be some Chengdu “classics” as well as at least one bar that is not typically frequented by the expat community. I’ll post a list next week.
Hey Chris, sorry I just adopted a puppy! Right after I posted this thread, I went down the street and saw a puppy being abused. I was like, How can you treat a puppy like that? And he said It’s my puppy, but if you want it, it’s 100 yuan…
…so no cats for me!

Trivia tomorrow will be so badass because everyone will get free beer!! I got a keg of Vedett White — a premium white Belgian, usually for 50 yuan in this city — and giving it out to anyone who attends trivia. One glass per person. And of course Maredsous draft will have its usual 30 yuan discount. Teams no larger than 6.
Also a certain “Brave Chengdu” may be making an appearance/hosting. Tell him to man up and use his real name for once.
A note on the Via Via beer festival tonight: the contests and games will start around 8, so get there by then!
