The most bizarre thread on the internet. So we have an English-language forum, a topic posed, answered by one Chinese male troll, and another Chinese female troll– in jokingly racist technicolor troll fashion in what seems like English, but with the logic of my pet hedgehog…

Dark Knight Rises isn’t worth going to HK for…barely worth walking the 3 minutes it took me…just sayin’–I could list why, but won’t spoil it for you.

Don’t get to Chengdu for a month, but a cursory check seems to indicate that there is an IKEA in Chengdu. I’ll be starting there for household odds n ends.

if your nads hurt, it’s deffo a bike “fit” issue. could be anything from handle bars being too low, seat angle or height, or too small/too big bike frame. Best way would be too google “fitting your bicycle” or something like that or cruise one of the several popular biking forums out there. Absolutely agree with Elias, biking shorts help a LOT, or at least wear super-tight undies and kinda pull the boys “up.”

    @ Stephen–no I don’t ride competitively, but I do ride 10-15 hours a week weather/time allowing.

    Diamond,

just curious why you would want that. Is Chengdu so spread out and inaccessible that you would need groceries delivered? Or are you just some really rich guy who can’t be bothered to go to the grocery store?

It seems strange, as almost all bikes and components are manufactured in China, it would be interesting to find a place that steals/stocks the highest of the high components fro cheap…possible? or?

That bike in my photo is a Surly Cross-Check cyclocross bike. Thanks for all the information guys. I don’t arrive in Chengdu until August, but would absolutely love to ride and learn the best places not to get run over by a truck or bus!

bump. I have the same question, as it will determine whether I need to spend time in Hong Kong on my way to Chengdu. I need a bunch of stuff made–suits, shirts, trousers.

    Hi,

First time poster, and due to being really particular to my supplements (and brands), I did some exhaustive research (for me anyway), and have found two websites–the first is located IN China, but the selection is not very good, and somewhat expensive:

    http://www.worldhealthstore.com.cn/en/

The second link has an impressive selection, low prices, and ships to China–I currently use this site and have never been let down. Shipping will take at least 8 days due to customs, but is located outside China (USA I think).

    http://www.iherb.com/

I’ll be moving to Chengdu in August, so I’m researching my interests and whatnot beforehand. I’ve read through most of the threads on Chengdu Living forums, and they have been invaluable, so I thought I’d contribute with a few links I haven’t seen posted on the forums yet.

    Cheers!
