In my experience, every custom it’s ok in China, depend where you have your custom broker. Like I said this is a very important contact. Is true that after for national shipping, you can use road courier or by river and last one is really cheap but need more time, but not in every custom you can use this way. I’m speaking for Sichuan, Yunnan… all the province near. By the way, I know that online is difficult find information, but I’m using online translator and I found something. Linkedin is a really professional social network, take care about this because it’s really useful.
In the end you need three people for open business here: custom broker, shipping company and business consultant. The last one isn’t really necessary if you know how to open and take care about a company in China.
Anyway you are in Chengdu now? a day for a coffee together? see you

Sure, like Fan suggested, I found many contacts by Linkedin and on internet, after you can choose which service is better for you… the difficult part is obtain license for food & beverage.
For example I sold Parma ham, salami, cheese… in Hong Kong without problems, here forget this!
but you know that we are speaking about two really different area of China…

Go on because is a business that need time for the startup but will give you good results in Chengdu and around.
You need an interpreter but more important a custom broker or a company that do this for you.
    Take care,

Fan, I agree with you when you say – To accept that is indeed also a respect to the other –

not when a people speaking with you say that chinese are “Yellow monkeys” or taiwanese/hong kong are better than chinese … only an example but this is for you is speaking with respect? is a constructive confrontation?

Like I said from the begin my is more like an emotional outburst, I’m here for share my thinking without presumptive idea of change everyone.
This MY “line” for a better life, try to understand everything speaking always respecting another people.
Like you said Rick, is better for me stop to interact with people that speak only bad words for chinese culture or for another one…
I believe in the mature confrontation of ideas, not in in simplistic stereotypes from people that are stupid and without respect 😉

Is true Fan, everyone can make a different choice like try to be a good people in this word, that try to understand everything that’s different or not…

Rick, you can to be a mature people trying not to be offended and you can use more respect when you try to understand another culture or somenthing that’s different from you. The point isn’t only to be mature man/woman or not.
And sure I can decide with who spend my time and build a bridge on an Island, but you are sure that’s the way for a better society?

I’m really relaxed Fan, maybe you aren’t… you don’t think that an answer like your
    – yes, we are all the same but yet different, i think i will just accept it –
    is too much simplistic?

I’m the first people that think in this world everyone is good, but is different when someone always use same stereotypical statements… maybe isn’t a simple joke but something that’s really believe.
So for example if someone really think that chinese people are stupid, dirty… please don’t come here for do business or live, stay at your home!
if someone don’t want try to understand another culture and when must speak never use respect for another people, maybe you must check your self before…

isnt this just another type of sterotype? yes, we are all the same but yet different, i think i will just accept it.

But sure that we are all different! but the point isn’t this, do you read all the discussion?

Maybe I take care too much about this but when you listen too much times these stereotypical thinking, but is difficult understand when the people in front of you is ironic or show the true feeling.
If you really think that your country is better than another and you show this, are you really a better people of another?
Someone use this differences for do business too, but the respect for another people where is? where is the line between a joke and not?
Maybe my thinking is too much naive…

    P.S.
Meaning of brother in the title is like say that we are all the same people on the earth…

Wallace, I agree with you when you say that – depending on the style and quality of finish and renovation / furnishings cost involved, the rents vary widely. –
But maybe you must check better the market because you can have a dreaming place and location but at this price, who really can to be interested?
For example, I live in the center in Jinjiang district, sure in an old apartment but big 250 squares meters at 7th floor with a big terrace. Price of rent is on 5000rmb.
Now, if I want restyle completely every room, I’m pretty sure that I will not use more than 20k – 25k rmb.
After, thinking about a subrent, I can ask 10k rmb for every month but maybe still to be difficult to sell!

Anyway try to put your apartment on AirBnb.com

    Good luck!

Fan, with your thinking you kill the market of the handicraft… a product if made by hand must to be more expensive than an industrial product. Sure the price must to be justified at quality of product…
    Anyway like Rick said:

I think Linka is upset not that people are selling handmade crafts for cheaper price that look like hers – but that they aren’t actually selling handmade crafts… they’re faking it, and profiting off of it, which is also cutting into her potential business to sell. Get it?
