there is also an english school on ximianqiao next to the university for minorities. it’s called Balboa. they follow the Californian curriculum and has kids starting at age 3. my kid is super happy there!

the burning gym is actually in the ATRIUM building. it looks brand new and the swimming pool is 20 meters long and max. 1.6m deep. i could buy a card for 3600 a year which allowed me into the pool twice a week. the sauna is very small, next to the showers and toilets. not a good deal i thought. i chose legend fitness (behind kempinsky). they had a temporary offer: 3200 rmb for 2 years unlimited access to the pool (25m.).

the swimming pool near machu picchu is very overcrowded. sometimes 14 people in one lane. plus it costs 50 rmb for 2.5 hour, therefore i am looking for a better one. are there hotels that just offer a pool membership?

tonight, wednesday is alternative chinese movie night (before game night starts….)
we have been doing it for more than 2 months now and the people who come really enjoy it! besides being great movies , you can actually get a good insight on what topics chinese people deal with in daily life. today wednesday 7.30 we will show KEKEXILI mountain patrol.. a group of volunteers (not really volunteers, they just did not get paid for a long while) are hunting for outlawed poachers of the tibetan antelope. expect from this true story a lot of tibetan nature shots and learn something about what local people there have to deal with. and some AK47 action too!
