hankParticipant
i just heard from my friends that in America , Canada. And many other places , they don’t have this kinda company.
Like FedEx, DHL, UPS and so on? 🙂
hankParticipantWhat happened to that EarthVPN promo code? I believe there was a thread advertising the service and a promo code for discount.
Seems like that thread is gone? https://www.chengduliving.com/forum/search/?bbp_search=earth+vpn
hankParticipantWhat about EarthVPN that was being promoted here on the forum a while ago? Are they any good? Thinking of signing up with them when my current subscription runs out.
hankParticipantHow small bikes are we talking? Got pics of yours?
What’s the price range like for these bikes?Early summer I saw some kind of mini bikes that caught my interest. They were small but not crazy small.
hankParticipantWas bought in Q1 2012, however was rarely used due to the fact that my major is street photography, therefore 90% of the time I`m running telephoto lenses.
To avoid confusion – this lens is totally suitable for street photography.
hankParticipantCan you tell us more? You’re looking for people to share knowledge and experience with?
Are you a student? Employed software developer? What kind of stuff do you develop?
hankParticipantI’m guessing it’d very difficult to find someone who have much experience with Chinese hosting service providers. As others pointed out it’s a rare case that one would want to host something in China. For a VPN server it makes much sense but I can’t come up with any other cases where it’d be useful.
hankParticipantOnce there was a guy on the street who walked up next to me and tried to hold hands with me. I did not let him. Then he started trying to caress my arm. That was weird…… And yes I’m a guy.
My reaction was to step away and check my pockets. I’ve been thinking this was a way to distract me while his companion was supposed to pickpocket me.
hankParticipantI’d like to suggest that you hint about the budget. For example is it a low-budget personal website or a high-budget site for a large company?
The kind of designer you’re looking for would probably be totally different depending on the budget.
hankParticipantI was in touch with this agency a couple years ago. Not sure about the situation now, but back then they were residing in Shenzhen so you’d have to mail them your passport. Or go down there I guess, but I think the visa process takes quite a while for them. Like 7-10 days. I could be wrong.
hankParticipantNot if it’s for a Chinese company. Read the definitions of Visas, or ask next time you’re at the PSB. F visa is a business visa, for going to conferences or signing contracts, meeting suppliers or potential business related events/opportunities – but that is very far removed from *working*.
That’s my interpretation as well. Personally I’m on an F visa, working remotely from home. I’m not working with Chinese companies and my company is not Chinese.
Sure it’s a bit fishy that I’ve been on a “business visit” for a few years, but I see it as a gray zone and according to my interpretation it’s the most suitable visa type for me. (I’ve also consulted visa agencies regarding this).
hankParticipantI’m quite sure that freelancing on an F Visa is not allowed. As stated in your post, it’s for business trips, but it was abused by basically everyone who acquired one, for many years. For that reason, I think it’s going to either be very difficult or impossible to get an F Visa from this point on, or at least until we see more changes to visa law and policy.
I believe freelancing on a F visa is alright in some cases. I believe it’s not allowed if working as a contractor on site, but okay if working remotely from home for example.
hankParticipantAlso in my country I get 112000 RMB after the tax deduction. I wanted to know whether it would be fruitful for me to move to China with this salary.
Not sure what you’re asking. You got 112000 RMB in savings that you want to live off in China and wondering for how long it’ll last?
hankParticipantI read somewhere that it was possible to get a multi entry F visa on and up to July 1st. After that it all goes to shit! I would double check mate.
This info, and all other info in this thread is regarding the visa regulations after July 1st.
hankParticipantMy visa agency replied to my email asking them whether I can still get 6 months F visas through them. They sent over a cryptic standard reply which I’m trying to decipher:
HI,FROM 1ST/JUL,ONLY SINGLE OR DOUBLE WITH DURATION 30DAY VISA IS AVAILABLE FOR A MOMENT,MAYBE NEED 2-4 WORKING DAYS TO GET.OTHERS VISA TYPE,YOU NEED TO CONTACT US IN JUL.1ST/JUL IS HOLIDAY IN HONGKONG
day(mon-thu),fri,sat,sun is not available.
come before 0945am,pick up 1200-1300pm by next day, come before 1330pm,pick up 1600pm by next day(mon-thu),fri,sat,sun is not available.
ONE YEAR MULTIPLE F VISA WITH DURATION 60 DAYS VISA CAN GET,NEED 3 OR 7 WORKNG YDA TO GET(ONE PHOTO AND PASSPORT,AND 2 RECORD OF CHINA VISA ISSUED FROM THE CHINA EMBASSY IN YOUR PASSPORT.).The last sentence there is interesting. So seems like we can still get one year F visas through agencies if one have more than two previous China visas. Multi-entry but maximum 60 days duration for each entry…
Anyone else got some info that confirms this? Know of an agency that can do multi-entry unlimited duration per stay F visas?
hankParticipantSo today is the day.. Anyone know how things turned out? I’ve sent an email to the visa agency in HK that I usually get my 6 months F visas from and asked, but no response as of yet.
hankParticipantI only skimmed through your post but you’re right, you’re not allowed to work for a company with a F visa. Should be Z visa. You’re allowed to work IN China with an F visa though if you’re a freelancer working from your home office or so. Or if you’re there for a business visit.
BUT the visa policies changed today 1st of July(see https://www.chengduliving.com/forum/topic/whats-up-with-these-1-july-visa-rumors/). I still don’t know exactly how it turned out but it’s very likely that F visa is no more and have been replaced by something called M visa.
hankParticipantStudent visa: register for classes, pay tuition, and get the visa. Optionally, attend class.
Anyone know of a school where attending classes is optional? Preferably also with a quite low tuition fee.
I heard that they do check attendance at Sichuan University, but depending on the teachers you might not have to attend so many classes.
hankParticipantThe search function has gotten even worse than before. Impossible to search now. I used to do a pretty good job at ninja’ing old threads when questions were re-asked, just because I knew they were hidden somewhere and used the right keywords.
Now it’s impossible to dig up an old thread unless you want to go through 27 pages of irrelevant posts.
For sites with crappy search functionality you can use Google and append site:https://www.chengduliving.com/forum/ to your search query.
But I do prefer sites having a well functioning search.
hankParticipantWhich floor is the apartment on, and how many floors do the building have in total?
Is the rent 2.2k both for 1 year payment and 3 months payment or is that a typo?
